# Methodology in preparation

The full methodology document for the Demeter Pistachio Season Index (DPSI) is in preparation alongside the calibration cycle. DPSI is a weather-derived index that tracks growing conditions across California's pistachio-producing regions, parameterised for pistachio phenology.

The DPSI methodology will follow the same design principles as the DASI methodology — observable and universal data, continuous availability, spatially-explicit construction — with variable weights and stage definitions tuned for pistachios.
